Etna Valetudo EcoMarathon 2013

The Marathon takes place in a location which has scenery which is difficult to find elsewhere in the world, on the slopes of a volcano where we can find recent lava flows where no living creatures have yet settled, as well as older lava flows where clusters of larches and birches are growing. Mt Etna frequently erupts: during the last 30 years, at least one eruption every has been reported every three years. These eruptions have lasted from 5 days to more than a year.

Saturday 2 november
17.00 distribution of the race numbers at "Servolare shop", Largo dei Vespri 6 – Nicolosi
Nicolosi is a small town at 700 mt. of altitude halfway from Catania and Etna

Sunday 3 November
7.00-8.00 meeting at the race start at Piano Vetore – Nicolosi (Etna south). Distribution of the last race numbers. Distribution of race numbers will close at 8.00.
08.30 Briefing on theMarathon departure line at Piano Vetore – Nicolosi (Etna south)
09.00 Start of Etna Valetudo EcoMarathon 2013
12.30-14.30 Pasta Party at Rifugio Ragabo, Piano Provenzana (Etna North)
14.30 Prize giving ceremony
15.00 Bus transfer to the start point at Etna south, in order to pick up your cars (option to be booked and paid in advance)

Note:
- We remind you that start and arrival of marathon are located respectively in the southern and northern side of volcano Etna. Distance by car is about 50km
- All athletes luggage will be transported by minibus from the start to the race finish.
- A bus transfer is organised at 15pm to go back at the start point. This optional transfer must be reserved along with your inscription (cost 15 € per person)
