Track

UThe 2011 edition will be distinguished by a new and amazing course. The Sky Race will take place on Etna NE slope, the wild side of the volcano with lava flows and pine forests. The start point will be at the Citelli refuge (1750 m) to head toward Pizzi Deneri (2847 m), a very challenging stretch run on a rich in debris ground. The view on Bove Valley will be outstanding; this valley is broad and covered with lava flows. During the climbing the athletes could enjoy the view of the steamy craters on the top of Etna, and experience a run on the soft lava sand during the height difference of 900 m downhill. Passed the rest stop of Piano Provenzana the course will be more smooth but always among craters, lava flows and trees. Reached the Timparossa refuge athletes will face the last downhill towards the Ragabo refuge.
