Etna Skyrace – Special package Etna summit

This slightly longer package combines the charm of Catania with hiking on Mount Etna, accompanied by a Volcanic Guide. The 5-hour trek will allow you to take a closer look at the highest active volcano in Europe. After the skyrace, we spend the night on the southern slopes of Etna at the Rifugio Sapienza (1900m) and in the following morning we go up to a height of 2900m using a cable car and 4x4 jeep, in order to begin our excursion. In the afternoon you will be transferred to Catania airport

Saturday 5 November 2011 - Catania

12.00hrs Welcome at the airport and transfer to Catania hotel
Pick up your race number in Catania on Saturday afternoon.
Dinner is not included tonight and you are free to choose from the wide selection of restaurants. Overnight in hotel in Catania.

Important:
Due to the unpredictable nature of the volcanoes and the weather, this program can be modified. In any case we always try to adhere as much as possible to the described program. The access to Etna craters is generally allowed, however this can change at any time. The volcano guides reserve the right to decide whether or not to climb to the craters according to safety measures, the weather and also the physical condition of the trekkers. Mandala Tour is not responsible in case of impossibility to reach the summit of the volcanoes. An alternative trekking at lower altitude is always organised.

Basic package

Etna skyrace – Basic package

If you have never been to Catania, then this is the perfect choice. The city centre is quite small, so half a day is more than enough for your first taste of Baroque Sicily. On Sunday morning our private minibus will take you to the departure of your excursion. After the awards ceremony you will be transferred to Catania Airport.

Individual arrival to Catania. To reach your hotel it is possible to take the number 457 bus from Catania Airport to the centre of the city (€1) or otherwise you could take a taxi (€25). Pick up your race number in Catania on Saturday afternoon.

Comfort Package

Etna Skyrace – Comfort Package

This trip is suited to those who would like to relax after the race and take their time visiting the city of Catania. We welcome you at Catania airport and we transfer to your accommodation in Catania. On Sunday morning, our private minibus will take you to the start of the race. After the awards ceremony you will be transferred to your hotel in Catania.
On Monday you can relax and enjoy Catania, visiting its lovely city center, included in UNESCO world heritage list. In the afternoon we will transfer you to the airport.
